WEB COMIC: DELVE
CREATORS: ARTIST/ ANDREW HUNTER
COLORIST/ LIZ HUNTER
ARCHIVE: 159 PAGES SO FAR
GENRE: RPG FANTASY ADVENTURE/COMEDY
Hey guys here is another web comic review you should enjoy. I finally found this comic I been wanted to take a closer look at and was happy I did. It's called Delve!
PROS: The lead character shines and the story moves along at a nice pace... mostly. You will find good art and shiny colors. This story is so good it may catch you off guard as it did me. I read the whole archive in one sitting, I almost never do that! There are sex girls drawn in some of the most provocative poses for your viewing pleasure.. To top it off This one can be quite funny at times.
CONS: We don't know when this web comic updates and there seems to be glitch that you can't see certain pages between 87-100? For some reason the archive wasn't working my first read through to show these pages. At times you may not know when your in a flash back, your just there. Hey, I did not see parental warning!
CONCLUSION: I enjoyed this web comic a lot and highly recommend it. There are some issues after you read past page 87( that is if you start from page 01 to 87). I found nothing wrong with the most recent updates so I don't know how far that error goes that won't let you load the pages. Update* after reading more of the web comic DELVE, I found I can see those pages I originally had problems with; by going to a more recent update and then using the archive there. I'm not sure if it was one time thing or not. Let me know if you had similar problems. Also I did not see parental warning. I noticed that later after I completed the review so won't take points away. Sorry that just slipped past me.To the creator Andrew, you have gem here. You could of easily got a 9.0 or better if not for some of those issues I stated earlier.
|OVERALL SCORE: 8.5|
Bree Starval is a wood elf rogue who has entered the Delve in the company of a party of adventurers. After falling victim to a slide trap, they find themselves in an unfamiliar and dangerous section of the dungeon. The story stands out for me as being more original then most in this genre.
I love Andrews style it doesn't easily remind me of anyone else and he draws the different types of girls species very well. He does take short cuts on the back grounds but I assume it's to keep up with the dead lines. They don't take away from the telling the story at all.
COLORING OR SHADING: 9.5
Liz has some serious talent with the affects and giving this web comic it's overall mood with the coloring. You can tell when some one is subbing for her. Andrew appears to be the only one that can match her when he has to do this as well.
WRITING AND SPELLING: 9.5
Andrew keeps it simple and hits plenty of home runs.. He able to use very little dialog but explain just enough to further raise your curiosity. I should take notes here. There appear to be no misspells or broken sentences to piece together. Perhaps his flash backs could be more easily able to tell when your in one however.
WEB PAGE LAYOUT: 9.0
Nice work but there were page load errors when I read the first 87 seven straight for some reason.
It's rare I read more than 15 page to a chapter of webcomic unless if it really grabs me by the neck.. This one does and will! Most who flip through the pages won't be able to stop easily.
POST FREQUENCY: 3.0
I don't know when this web comic updates. It must keep some kind of schedule perhaps once a week? Andrew is not telling. I normally give a 2 here for me not knowing when web comic updates. The more then average archive helped me give a extra point.
A modest PR2 is okay. The fact that the author admits there was a "leaving comment issue"s at some point in the recent past with this web comic makes it hard to tell how many comments on average it really gets. For now it looks like 7-15 comment per post. This web comic is also in the top 100 web comics.
